Meet Dr. Lauren E. Jensen
LAUREN E. JENSEN, DDS, MS
Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics
Dr. Jensen is a very proud Iowa native. She was raised in Iowa City, Iowa in a close-knit family. After graduating from Harvard University in 2008 with a degree in biology and a foreign language citation in Spanish, she went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2014.
As a dental student, Dr. Jensen was captivated by endodontics, and its uniquely elegant combination of the science and artistry of dentistry. She was admitted to the College of Dentistry’s post-graduate training program in endodontics in 2014. Dr. Jensen received her specialty certificate in endodontics in 2016, and a Master’s in Oral Sciences degree in 2017.
Following her post-graduate training in endodontics, Dr. Jensen became a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa. She divided her time between patient care and didactic and clinical teaching for both dental students and endodontic residents alike. She published her Master’s Research Project in the Australian Endodontic Journal and became board-certified in endodontics by the American Board of Endodontics, a distinction held by fewer than one-quarter of all endodontic specialists.
While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Jensen was fortunate to meet her now husband, Chris (Dr. Friedl), with whom she moved to Colorado after acquiring their private practice limited to endodontics in 2020. Together, they managed their practice until selling it in 2025 with hopes of returning to the friendliness of the Midwest, especially for their daughter, Penelope—the absolute light of their lives. After careful consideration, Dr. Jensen and Dr. Friedl returned to Iowa to establish Endodontic Specialists of the Quad Cities.
Dr. Jensen is an active member of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE), the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Iowa Dental Association (IDA), and the Davenport District Dental Society. She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics, the official journal of the American Association of Endodontists. Further, Dr. Jensen has had the unique privilege of serving on several AAE committees and is a past-Director on the AAE’s Board of Directors, representing Iowa along with 17 other states. Lastly, she is an adjunct faculty at the University of Iowa in the Department of Endodontics.
Dr. Jensen was an avid tennis player and won two state championship doubles titles while in high school including one with her younger sister, Hannah. She enjoys physical activity of many kinds and is very family oriented. Dr. Jensen has always had a genuine love for and devotion to Iowa. She feels truly humbled by and appreciative of having returned to Iowa and specifically to be a part of the friendly, welcoming, and kind Quad Cities community. She hopes to make a small but meaningful difference in patients’ lives.
